"Can you give me a smile?"by RikkiComment: Wow! I'm sorry I missed this one Rikki!
Great story, and the pic just adds to it! heh
Everyday on my way to work, I'd pass by the same (homeless) man. He'd always sit in the same spot. Laying next to him was his dog, often covered with a blanket to keep him warm, especially during those cold Canadian winters. He'd always have a big smile on his face and never failed to say good morning, even to those who looked the other way while walking past. Often, I'd stop and talk to him and have a smoke while I waited for my bus. Soon the day came when that same spot was empty. My morning commute to work was filled with the hope that I'd again find him sitting in that same spot, only to find it empty once again. I'm sure wherever he is now that he's still smiling and saying good morning.
It's the simple things in life. Next time you see someone, smile and say good morning. You'll never know how good you'll make someone else feel. :)
Good Morning! :)

I think this is my fav out of the bunch. Love the expressions, very proud expectant parents here and you've captured it very well. :)

Happinessby RikkiComment: Glad to hear you're thinking along the lines of photo-journalism. Before reading this, I commented on your Dreaming of Yesterday photo.
I love candids and this is a very well timed shot. Makes me want to know what they were laughing about so I can laugh tooo!

Dreaming of Yesterdayby RikkiComment: Rikki, You need to do a newspaper column. Nothing much, just a photo and a little story like this one, (if you don't do this sort of thing already!). |

RR Bridge @ Indian Rockby SJCarterComment: I really like this shot. I'm a fan of railroading and nature, so if you can combine the two, it makes it an easy fav for me. :)
I love the composition and the post-processing brings out the ageing of the bridge and the retaining wall/support. Well done!

Reflection of our timesby LongreachComment: ok, it is definitely a reflection without mirrors, so it meets the challenge. Unfortunately, it's just not a very interesting photograph. Sorry! |
