Septemberby awpollardComment: Great color and the white steam/exhaust is a perfect foil for those colors. I would have thought the trolley/trian was much larger if there weren't a person in the photo to give me a sense of scale. I like the composition. |

December Waiting for Santaby ladpupmoeComment: Personal opinion here: I am not big on animals in costumes. We have a golden retriever, and they are such beautiful dogs. The dog's expression seems sad and disengaged. I do like how crisp all the textures in this photograph are. The wide variety of those textures is interesting. |

Novemberby photographistComment: This photograph leaves me unsure of what to focus on. I would like to see more of the dock down at the level of the water, or more of the far shore. One or the other. This framing makes the body of water seem insignificant to me. |

October :: Why me?by DefyTimeComment: Nice use of light and shadow; it certainly helps create the mood of the odd and grotesque. The placement of the subject within the frame is interesting and evokes a tension that parallels the mood of the lighting and subject. |

Mayby HRoxasComment: I like the lighting. The red and green overpower the yellow of the rose. I focus on the leaves rather than the actual flower, but perhaps that is what the artist was intending. I would need to see an entire calendar of these images to see if the idea works. |

November- Auroral Majestyby kirbicComment: This is stunning. The fact that the stars are visible, the movement of the lights up and out of the frame, and the angle of the shot give the feeling of being transported up and beyond the frame of the image. Nice job. |

Decemberby peeteComment: I like the sky and the snow; however, the angle reminds me of a realty ad. A more creative angle could have made this shot much more powerful. The placement of the house toward the right also creates an unwelcome tension. |

Novemberby JondorComment: Simple elegance. An entire calendar using this style would be amazing. |

February's Sweetheartsby debitiptonComment: I like the angle of the light and the "realness" of the subjects, by that I mean, the choice of a couple who are not "young lovers" nor a cliche "cute elderly couple." The photographer has captured a feeling of comfort and ease between these two people. The conflicting energy of him looking ahead and her turning back evokes in me the promise of the future and the security of a shared past. It works very well. |
