Inhibitby KimblyComment: I'm torn on this one. As far as voting, I'm coming down on the "I like this side" but I'm not sure I like the effect with the barbed wire as it recedes into the distance. This is also almost too sparse for me -- maybe another loop of barbed wire somewhere in the shot -- or maybe even some other something altogether? Not sure. |

Lonely by GoatfatherComment: Very cool shot. One of my best this week. Love the simple almost B&W color scheme with just a hint of green on the rocks and the bright splash or yellow dandelions. The one thing that I think might be improved toward my own personal taste would be the composition. Since I don't know what the area was like, this may be unusabl criticism, but I think I would have done at least 1 of 2 things. First shifted the camera to the left so that the big dandelion was much closer to the right edge of the frame. Because of the shapes of the stems and whatnot, that would let the eye flow down and around and through the picture. As it now stands, my eye kind of "ignores" the right half of the image. Second, I wonder what this would have looked like with just the rocks and no water as a background. Nevertheless, great work. |

Can u play London Bridges falling down?by MagsCoyoteComment: Nice memory book photo and a great caption. I want to see the child's face. The overall picture seems a little bit out of focus and even though there really isn't mcuh you can do about it, the background is very uncomplimentary to the rest of the picture. |

In the Treetopsby deke_2503Comment: I think you might have been able to pull this off if we could have seen a lot more green -- as if the leaves were stained glass. As it is, I just don't think it works very well. I'd suggest next time metering on the leaves -- it'll probably blow out the sun and maybe the sky though -- you might have to find an angle thatd oesn't include the sun in the shot. |

Indivisibleby connieComment: Interesting B&W -- hope it's not getting too slammed for the patriotism. The left side of the model's face (our right) is a touch too dark, I think, for this picture -- maybe a little bit of a bounce to fill in some of the details? I also am trying to figure out why you're using an older flag with only 48 stars. I confess, I'm not getting the symbolism if you're trying to convey something. |

Eighty Cents Eachby malapropamComment: Dig the colors. Wish this was cropped closer to only see the candles in the boxes and not the table they were on or the part of the boxes that are at the back and say "Drip Stick Candles." Maybe even a composition that included a bunch of the different colors in some kind of other environment (IE you bought some of them and took them home and set something up...) |

Stairway to Heavenby brumosComment: Don't know about the title ;-) but I like the simple shot. Nicely geometric against a pretty blue sky. I think the color of the sky nicely accentuates the grey of the building. |

flies in the house (moscas en la casa)by brent matsuoComment: OK, maybe it's just me -- but I can't even see any of the flies. The color of the picture is very yellow -- if you have the ability, try to use the white balance in your camera. If you don't maybe adjust them in an image editing program. But more than anything, and as mean as it may sound, I'd suggest looking for a different subject. |

Panache by KarenBComment: Pretty, pretty picture. I love the bright white of her dress, and her skins tones look good, but the rest of the levels seem a little dark (especially the grass). I also think this one would be good for a really large depth of field (small aperture, big F#) so that everything was in a sharp focus. The downside of that is a longer shutter speed -- if it was windy, it wouldn't work because everything would be blurry for other reasons. Anyway, good capture. |

the jungle in my houseby pablolevaComment: Nicely captured water drops on the leaves. I guess I'd either like to see something besides leaves as a background to the leaves, or something else besides leaves using the leafy background. This makes me feel like I'm looking at a close-up of one part of a bigger picture. |
