I snapped this from about 50 ft up in a maple tree in my backyard. It's around 2:00, so I'm looking almost straight up at the sun.

I'm kinda picky about the colors. This might have looked better with more of a golden and brown hue on the leaves and without the red halo. The sun is actually overdone.

That is a beautiful picture of the sun.

I think you might have been able to pull this off if we could have seen a lot more green -- as if the leaves were stained glass. As it is, I just don't think it works very well. I'd suggest next time metering on the leaves -- it'll probably blow out the sun and maybe the sky though -- you might have to find an angle thatd oesn't include the sun in the shot.

feels like a good background, but theres a subject missing.

Sorry.. I'm a rookie on the photo business so I will say it "tech-LESS"
Needs more front light.. I dont see the subject

nice contrast

I'd rather either see the leaves more clearly or have them in full silhouette; this is sort of in between.

I'm not especially inspired by your choice of subject, but the shot it well-exposed, with an impressive focal range. I'm also impressed by your ability to include the sun in the shot without blowing everything else out. 7-ClubJuggle.

sunspot too bright, leaves under exposed. It could work if the pattern was really interesting.

that's a cool angle, but really not enough to hold the interest on the photo very long. -- gr8photos (3)

I took a picture like this, too....I didn't submit it for the same reason I don't like this one....I like the idea of it and will continue to work on mine, but I just don't like the look

not too interesting. i bet you could've done better.

Lacks any point of interest, and lacks sharpenss. There is not area of detail to hold the eye.

The subject in this photo doesn't really grab me for some reason... = 5 - jmsetzler

Normally, I like foreground stuff, but not in this case, it's too dark. Intesting colors in the sun flare. 6 Swash

It,s not evident what I'm suppose to see. I hope the direct sun didn't burn your imager (the CCD chip inside your camera that makes the picture).
