Comment by Krystle:
hello, I was doing a search for a fisher, because, like you said, it's very rare to capture such a thing. unfortunately, this is not a fisher, it's a mink. i know, as i am a trapper, and have caught both fisher and mink, and i can definately say that that's what it is and isnt'.
on the other hand, i do like the shot :) it's very cool to catch a mink on camera as well.
good luck, krystle

Hi Michael,

This is a great idea for a series, and this is a nice example, made very strong by the beautiful sky and the silhouettes set against it. I like the soft approach too... it works very well with the fur. What works less for me though is the inclusion of so much of the rocks (I think I know where this picture was taken :P). For me it makes the image "bottom-heavy" as it were, and makes the composition somewhat less pleasing than it could be. My choice might have been to crop (or better yet frame) so that only a small portion of the rocks is visible. I also might have chosen to crop/frame to subract some of the negative space from the left. This might have placed both the dog and its owner closer to the coveted thirds of the image. This could of course just be a matter of taste; it depends on the impact this image has on the individual. Overall nicely done, and I look forward to more from this series.

I love the reflection - perfectly crisp and clear. Hopefully you'll get back when the goslings are out and about, too.

Comment by Louis:
Very lovely. The subtle pastel feel works very well, and the reflected shapes of the two curved necks complement each other nicely. The diffuse light is really quite lovely. I'm thinking there may have been some condensation on your lens, resulting in this nice soft look.
