Monk in Alleyby davmctComment by JPR: I agree with the previous comment about the distracting elements on the right. However, I'm not sure cropping them out is a good solution either as I like the placement of the leading lines into the street. If anything I would suggest cropping some off the left to put the monk more in the third lines. Perhaps you could experiment with some blending modes to minimize the impact of the bike. I really like the light shining through the bag. The combination of this light, and of course the presence of a monk, makes the mudane task of shopping almost spiritual. |

Monk in Alleyby davmctComment by JH: Okay, I know you used selective de-sat to draw attention to the monk. But my eye was immediately drawn to the motorbike on the right! - Probably because it's sitting near the thirds line.
Nice capture though - I like the fact he's carrying a shopping bag, makes it look more natural. But I'm still looking at that bike... oh no... now I'm looking at that calendar! How about just cropping out the right-hand side altogether? :) |

red pepperby davmctComment by rox_rox: I voted this a 7 too. It didn't bother me that it wasn't much of a branch. It's such a good shot of a pepper. Love the colors and the plain background. Possibly an opportunity for a more dynamic composition; but I still think it should have scored much higher. |

Clay Vase no.3by davmctComment by rox_rox: I didn't get a chance to comment much on the circle challenge, but I voted this one a 7. I thought it was very nice. Really liked the selective desat and the balance you created in the composition. Hope to see some images in your portfolio soon. |

red pepperby davmctComment by KiwiShotz: That is a professional shot of the pepper, excellent. Pity the branch bit is just happens to be attached to it and is OOF. 6 |
