Very good shot and desat. The only improvement would be to somehow "unglow" the bag he is carrying. It draws my eye down to it like it is a magic object of some sort.

The bike and calendar may be considered unneeded objects by some but I think they are bland enough for me to be able to accept them as an important part of where the Monk was walking.

I agree with the previous comment about the distracting elements on the right. However, I'm not sure cropping them out is a good solution either as I like the placement of the leading lines into the street. If anything I would suggest cropping some off the left to put the monk more in the third lines. Perhaps you could experiment with some blending modes to minimize the impact of the bike. I really like the light shining through the bag. The combination of this light, and of course the presence of a monk, makes the mudane task of shopping almost spiritual.

Okay, I know you used selective de-sat to draw attention to the monk. But my eye was immediately drawn to the motorbike on the right! - Probably because it's sitting near the thirds line.

Nice capture though - I like the fact he's carrying a shopping bag, makes it look more natural. But I'm still looking at that bike... oh no... now I'm looking at that calendar! How about just cropping out the right-hand side altogether? :)
