Print.jpgby thomaspeopleComment: It's got potential. I'd say go for strong sidelighting - there's a lot of reflected glare in this one (from top right). The focus also falls off from the middle to the top right - so it looks like there's a bit of a tilt to the surface. Make sure your lens is perpendicular (in both planes) to the surface you're photographing - to get everything in focus. I'd also experiment with the texture of the surface - I'd start real smooth to just highlight the fingerprint texture. I'd also try a real greasy fingerprint dusted with some fine talc. |

Cherry Coke Zero (Textures - Day 6)by krafty1Comment: Brilliant photo! How'd you get all the bubbles to line up!?! :)
pearlseyes: Reversing a 50mm lens is a tried & true way of doing macros without an expensive macro lens. You basically attach the lens to the camera backwards using an adaptor or even sticky tape. Another way is to use extension tubes between the body & the lens - which allow you to focus much closer, and thus get higher magnification. |

paintby thomaspeopleComment: This looks fantastic in the small thumbnail size - but the grain & blur are a bit of a problem in the larger size. I would love to see a good hires photo of the painting - it looks very interesting. |
