Great idea! I seems a bit hot lit on the right but do enjoy the textures. Could be put to good use in a ,who done it, challenge. |

I really like this 1!! Very cool shot, to be honest I slightly disagree with muz's comment, I think that the reflected glare and the slightly tilted surface adds alot of dynamic to the shot. The tilt helps to bring a lead in from focused area that gently leads your eyes to the blurred end of the pic, its a nice and gentle transition and the glare helps to that effect from a dark area to lighter =) |

It's got potential. I'd say go for strong sidelighting - there's a lot of reflected glare in this one (from top right). The focus also falls off from the middle to the top right - so it looks like there's a bit of a tilt to the surface. Make sure your lens is perpendicular (in both planes) to the surface you're photographing - to get everything in focus. I'd also experiment with the texture of the surface - I'd start real smooth to just highlight the fingerprint texture. I'd also try a real greasy fingerprint dusted with some fine talc. |
