My wife took up abstract painting a while ago. This is a closeup of the canvas with some gold, red, and assorted mixed hues in oil. I have it hanging on the wall at my office. The texture is really quite nice, although I don't think I captured it well enough here.

I paint abstract paintings, too....I love her style and colors! I'm amazed at the amount of pigment and paint she used! I bet this piece is gorgeous to look at. Tell her I LOVE the little bit of canvas I see here! :)

I love oil paintings, it's a great abstract shot, the noise doesn't bother me that much, just needed to be a bit more sharp and voiala! =)

Nice 1 non the less

This has great potential and I like this version as well. I agree the noise is pretty bad, but you could clean that up with noiseware or other noise reduction software. If you could take it off the wall and outside in the sun I think those textures would really come alive.

The colors are amazing. The noise kills it for me though.

In retrospect, I see that this isn't shot very well.
We had tornado warnings last night as I was about to leave work, so I stayed a while, camera in hand, shooting around the office. Unfortunately, this was shot at 1600 ISO because I was handheld and a little shaky. I'll try to redo this some time. It's a great painting.

Seems a touch on the grainy side. I do love the movement and depth of the paint not to mention the colors.
