Silent Glowby DeniseBernadetteComment: Gorgeous display of zen. I love the background color, it sets the single, minimal subject apart quite beautifully. There were a couple of other shots like this in the challenge, but the smoke that they showed, in my opinion, put motion into the shot when it was meant to create an air of stillness, breaking their zen. But this one does not get interrupted by any other details. Quite beautiful, quite zenny. Great job! |

Marble Meets Marbleby scalvertComment: I love this! Great use of color (minimal) and light (minimal). The overall feeling of this photo is simplicity. My idea of a zen photo is one that my eye is not so drawn into the details of the photo, making it busy. Yours does not do that, my focus is on one thing only, my eye is at rest. The position of the marble is perfect for this shot, and whatever you used as the background works perfectly as well. I thought the shot before this one was my fave, but now yours is! Great job from the 'Great Job Baggie'... |

. by pointandshootComment: Very pretty. It is tonally very quiet, and just a bit of movement in the ripple, which is why I didn't score it a tad higher.
Update: I went back in and looked again, and feel that this does deserve a higher mark.
This has a very lofty feeling to it, I can feel the water moving, while yet still. The minimal use of color and lighting keep this photo very silent in movement and distraction, creating a great sense of zen for me. At least, my idea of zen. Gave you a 10. Great job from the 'great job baggie'.... |

... simplicity ...by GuGiComment: Very minimal, and the black and white creates a beautiful photo. Just doesn't feel zenny to me. But great job from the "Great job Baggie"... |

Green Wonderby levyj413Comment: Not feeling the zen in this, it's like a leftover of color on color. Anyway, it just doesn't create an sense of zen for me. |
