 Some incense.

I originally wanted to get the smoke coming up from it, but I waited till the last minute and ended up with this instead. Not expecting it to do all that well!

I like this! It's simple, but the glow seems to pop off the page. From what I know about zen (very little). . .yes. . .it does in fact seem zenlike :)

Gorgeous display of zen. I love the background color, it sets the single, minimal subject apart quite beautifully. There were a couple of other shots like this in the challenge, but the smoke that they showed, in my opinion, put motion into the shot when it was meant to create an air of stillness, breaking their zen. But this one does not get interrupted by any other details. Quite beautiful, quite zenny. Great job!

Excellent minimalism. DoF is superb. My eyes need the tip to be lower even though my brain is saying the composition is fine. However, good solid photography that shows skill, 10.

Nice, different idea which IMHO would have worked better if the B/G didnt have the 'creases' in it :o)
