Shadow of a Black Widowby VenomComment: Insects just aren't aware of being photographed. They behave the same way no matter what. I can't see this as candid. |

exitby rozComment: A little too much added noise, in my opinion. |

The girl in the caféby BrinComment: Her face sticks out to me as looking as though it has been over-adjusted. Her eyes and forehead look like they were lightened, and it gives her a "bandit mask" tanline appearance. |

Big Clumsy, and Graceful.by SouthCoastOr3gonComment: Animals just aren't candid, to me. They are unaware of photography and they don't modify their behavior when they think they're being watched, especially from a distance. |

A Brief Moment of Silenceby jjbeguinComment: Originally posted by Bosborne: I have made this one of my favorites despite what the SC deems as a ''failure''. |
Nobody ever said it was a failure. According to SC (since I haven't seen an original, myself) it broke rules. It could be the Mona Lisa and end up disqualified if it broke editing rules. (He used a brush in basic editing. Hah!)
To quote one of my favorite movies: "This isn't Nam, Donnie, there are rules!" It's a great photo - I quite like it, but that doesn't mean it deserves to retain its ribbon. Do Olympic atheletes get to keep their golds if its discovered they juiced? No. Professional sports? Oh, yeah, they get to keep their rings. |

Tower.JPGby TemperpolkComment: I like the idea you were going for - it's just too bad that part of the tower is obscured by the roof edges. |

Agueda.jpgby TemperpolkComment: There isn't anything particularly drawing about this, but there's nothing wrong with the subject.
Sometimes it can be difficult to tell, but ensuring that your horizon is flat is a good idea. |

red.JPGby TemperpolkComment: Ditto what howzitboy said. If you want to get that close to your subject, make sure you set your camera to Macro focus. Some sort of neutral background would have been a good idea. Also, a tripod instead of the flash at that range. Almost all of the highlights are completely blown out. |
