Trees for Antlers

Trees for Antlers

Comment:
What I appreciate about this is how the antlers and trees mimic each other in form. I'm about 3/4 through this thing and it's the best above-water wildlife photo I've seen so far in this challenge.

Great photograph and I love your understanding of framing, using just horizontal elements. Kudos.

First good idea, but I think the execution is lacking. Technically, the entire photo is just lacking in the detail necessary to really pull the photo off, you're dealing with very detailed objects. Compositionally, it may be a bit too difficult to find that Canadian piece near the top. Maybe placing the photo closer to the center (but not necessarily at) the center would help. Another idea to add variety is perhaps to add some more 'tails'. Play with it. :)

Looks like some good old fashion glass and/or mirror play. Nice understated composition, it conveys a lot of emotion.

That's a pretty good idea. My opinion about the DOF is because of the fine nature of the camoflauged objects, the entire composition in this 'aerial' should be sharp. However, I could easily see such a depth of field if the photo had a more dramatic perspective. Also love the composition of the actual objects themselves.

This is a really understated photograph, and I like it. This is one of the less decorative pumpkins, yet one of the best photos I've seen. You make good use of the surrounding textures, contrast in color the composition and proportions are good, and the DOF all cause the eye to focus on the pumpkin. You don't try to to do too much with the lighting...(I don't know if it's natural or unnatural)....it's just plain and simple. Kudos.

Great piece of carving, also relieved to see a daytime shot with some good lighting and combination of materials and textures.

This might have benefied by some sort of lighting...whether from and/or additional lamp on the outside or a flashligt on the inside. Right now, the lighting just isn't bringing out what it could.

Very charming and romantic photo, with the park and bicycles, one can easily take it for a country in Europe. And if this is Europe, well then - even better.
