In my opinion, This should have gott'n a ribbon! Two of the three ribon winners, (and I say with a smile) were very over rated. Yours was a better photograph!! They might have had better pumkins but this is a photo contest not a carving contest. Please don't get me wrong... Your carving was cool. LOL

i love the simplicity and how you left this pumpkin without a candle. nice composition and carving too. :)
also, off subject, but i took a look at your pbase (i have one as well!) and i like your artwork as well as your photography.

I love it Anna! great job, i still stand by my comment! great mood, it's too bad you have to look at a pumpkin everytime you view your profile though ;^) a very attractive pumpkin tho, lol. great shot, looks like alot of effort went into it!

| It seems so much like a ceramic pumpkin.... But I didn't see any DPC cops out tonight....so I'll just appreciate the appeal of this object in its environment which is pleasantly rendered with a limited dof and side-lighting which enhances the textures of all objects present. |

Great ambiance and composition. Just wish the focus was a bit stronger on the pumpkin instead of the background. Good natural colors.

| This is a really understated photograph, and I like it. This is one of the less decorative pumpkins, yet one of the best photos I've seen. You make good use of the surrounding textures, contrast in color the composition and proportions are good, and the DOF all cause the eye to focus on the pumpkin. You don't try to to do too much with the lighting...(I don't know if it's natural or unnatural)....it's just plain and simple. Kudos. |

| I love the low persepctive, the lighting and the way the pumpkin advances against the dark background and floor. I also really like the classic pumpkin carving. Good work. |

The tilted floor contribute to this easy ambiance...
Maybe with more saturated colors the ambiance would have been reinforced...but nice shot anyway ;) |
