Skinby trnqltyComment: I didn't need to read your title to immediately enjoy this shot. I immediately thought that it looked like an alien terrain. Something you might see from a mile or so up. Then, I thought that it looked like alien skin. It could be so many things fit into a fantasy realm. I like to think this looks like the wing of a dragon! Nicely done. |

A Place To Restby GolferDDSComment: This shot could do with some "pop" in contrast or something. It's very flat to me. But nice otherwise. |

Sunday Paperby Keith ManiacComment: This shot rocks! I would love to see the guy moved a bit closer for better detail and a bit off center. The color of this is great. The back wall looks crooked, if you could straighten that, this shot would be great. Very photojournalistic.
Despite these little differences in technical opinion, you have succeeded in forcing me to have an emotive response to your image, and it quite obviously fits within the confines on the challenge. SUCCESS!!! |

Criss-crossby ajschelComment: I think this would have been a better arrangement if it was rotated 90 degrees clockwise. It looks as if it were the original orientation anyway. |

swiss reflectionby Andre_P69Comment: This image is quite dark on my screen. I see what it is, but it doesn't stand out to me. |

Object of my destructionby solarysComment: This is a good start to what I consider "product photography". Shiny metal is quite difficult to photograph in studio. Especially spoons. Let me try to critique this from a purely technical studio approach. The composition to me looks not very well thought out. The front edge ofthe spoon is barely visible. I would like to see the entire rim be lit. The business end of the spoon would be better if it were all in focus. I don't mind the handle fading out at all. The tone is good throughout, but the upper right edge is a bit distracting. It looks as though it is the edge of your backdrop.
I hope this helps and isn't taken wrong. This is a very difficult subject matter to pull off well. |

Spoon by Keith ManiacComment: Metal is VERY hard to shoot well in a studio product situation like this. You pulled it off quite well. I'm guessing you used a brand new spoon? The edge lighting around the entire rim is quite well done. the spoon itself shows no visible blemishes (very hard to do with used utensils). Focus is a touch soft near the tip for me, I would have rather seen the handle be OOF more to correct this. The tone is also quite good. You cover a lot of zones in this shot. |

..by NazgulComment: The guy that looks like Lyle Lovett in the background is a bit distracting. |
