This is an excellent, natural light portrait.

Crisp, with expert D & B and blurring. The texture of the scarf and the reflection of his eyes bring the subtle colors together.

I have been a fan of this series for a while.

The only gripe I have is the 18% grey thing, your dipping into the abyss on both ends of the scale hurting the detail within that battle.

However, it doesn't kill me. It's the look of the series, and so there you go.

The more I look at this image, the more I like it.

The only gripe I really have is, especially with portraits, you are tending to over amp your whites, and your blacks are dipping into the abyss. Therefore, your 18% grey rule is lacking.

However, it doesn't kill me.

This reminds me of some oil paintings I have seen at the Getty.

Really a great effort with the lighting, the softness, the texture, and keeping in mind the emotional value.

The only thing, and this is petty, is the mole under her tat. Should of cloned it out.
