I like this one much better than the free study (sorry) on several levels: First, the wood planter thing is quite a distraction in the middle of the other picture, but here it's a wonderful leading line helping the pedestrian through the image. Second, the lines in the walls that aren't really noticeable in the other version are supporting features here. They get the viewer to look right at the gentleman with the flowers, and it's he who's the subject in my mind. I could go on and on, but I think I'll just add this shot to my faves in instead :-)

The high contrast and green eyes are a bit much for my taste. I think the black background is a good idea, but the light looks harsh. It's a cute dog though ... love those ears!

At first glance, it looked like there's too much Neat Image or something smoothing out the hairs on your cat. But I love the way he's looking at the camera, and now that I look more, the more I like the image. So I can only say, good job :-)

Ah, there his is hiding in the back row! Great idea, but I think it could've gone over better with just one color background and a matching "floor." The reason for this is that all the stuffed animals add a lot of complexity to the image, so it's not that helpful to have additional complexity in the background and foreground. The dog is very, very cute!

I love the title. This is a very good dog portrait with the tongue and the scarf. Might like to see a bit less dof to keep the eye squarely on this fine dog though.

She's straight out of a story book. There are soooo many great pictures in this challenge, but so far (71 of 261 voted), this is my favorite. It's the eyes that get to me the most. Very nice pose and composition. She looks like a very sweet dog.
