Petal Flamesby goinskiingComment: Indeed these petals do resemble flames but you may be stretching the concept of the challenge a bit. |

The Fire In Her Eyesby lilnukeeComment: Interesting idea, but I think you needed a larger flame to reflect in the eyes to really be able to pull this one off. |

Wooden Ladyby oksamitComment: I'm very surprised this did not get a ribbon or place within the top 10 at least. I gave it a 10. It's funny how people see things so differently. When I look at this picture, I can feel the smooth polished wood, the sharp metal of the cross, the varying textures of the beads, and the tactile feel of the purse. I can even feel the smooth cold glass of the store window in front of the mannequin which is evident due to the reflections. I love the color and composition too. This is still one of my favorites in this challenge. I think you did an excellent job. Message edited by author 2004-02-25 09:16:47. |

Eye of the Beholderby spectre013Comment: I am absolutely shocked that this picture did not place higher. I gave it a 10 and I still think it should have been a ribbon winner. You can feel the coarse texture of the fur, the grainy texture of the skin around rim of the eye and even the hair stuck on the eyeball makes me blink thinking about how that must feel. I think you were robbed! |

Coniston Waterby ImagineerComment: Now that I read that your picture was "Almost a pure out-of-camera shot...", I am doubly glad that I gave it a 10. It is a beautiful shot and I really appreciate the photos that are great from the start without a bunch of tinkering. The lighting is perfection and gives it a magical golden glow. keep up the great work! |
