| 06/19/2007 11:45:21 PM | Bottoms upby TlemetryComment: Striking as a thumbnail, but let down slightly by the level of noise, and the more undefined than expected nature of the petals. i do like the use of the over-exposure here as i feel it is effectively applied, and i actually think that the narrowness of the crop fits too. a bit of noise reduction, perhaps a little more sharpness and a tad more saturation might bring it out a bit more.

| 06/19/2007 08:20:38 AM | Bus stopby LevTComment: OH! I do like this. very original, super capture of a caught at the right moment kind of thing. what i like about it is the whole concept, the brighness, the saturated colours, the feeling of climate and time of day, the edge of the bus shelter being visible adds context. not too keen on the black square top left, and kind of wish the bloke on the right was leaning back as well. but that aside, very cool stuff.

| 06/19/2007 08:08:01 AM | Dreamscape IIby AlexSaberiComment: The most striking thing here is the colours and the post processing. doesn't seem particularly natural, but it is effective. the kind of halo thing around his head is a little strange, and his clothing is at odds with the environment - a little too Gap, and possibly a bit too air brushed / neat imaged.
the location is startingly captured; i love the grass dotted with daisies, the tree is very nice and provides a great focal point, and the composition overall is spiffing. the sky, albeit dynamic, seems a bit pink and fluffy, thereby reducing the ominous potential a tad...
a strange but appealing image.

| 06/19/2007 07:40:18 AM | Art Attackby graphicfunkComment: i did think of the back of a painting as a concept (there was a far out dutch painter who used to do this kind of thing), but didn't have the imagination to take it this big leap beyond. The fist, and the flying nature of the debris adds so much dynanism. it also seems so angry with much aggression! poor mimi. what did she do wrong? it has a story, narrative, is creative, looks great (albeit feels constrained in the close composition - more of the frame would be nice, but then detail would be lossed; curse the 640 pixel limits!) and shines. the attention to detail is to be commended.

| 06/19/2007 07:31:41 AM | Deja Vu - Caught My Best Sideby aimeethetooComment: The colours and composition of this is striking. It's also quite a witty take on a slightly overused but staple of DPC idea. the problem i have with it (one that is the result of the type of challenge) is that the person appears to largely lack personality and feels a bit too detached and cold to me; incredibly tongue in cheek though, and the initial smile it got from me earns it a good score. technically nice too.

| 06/13/2007 10:07:50 PM | Hot teaby Jeno_cideComment: thoroughly impressed that this shot is effectively straight out of the camera and is a bit of a rude awakening on a personal basis for the over reliance in saving a shot using software. the fact that you even thought of putting together sprinklers and a kettle for the perfect composition indicates you might be a bit bonkers, but by gods it is effective. very well done. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 06/10/2007 11:05:35 PM | together...by shamerComment: whoa dude - sixth place is splendid. Was a great shot, nicely realised through some spiffing editing, and is a lovely job all round. very serene. also; go team!! | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 06/07/2007 10:20:41 PM | Fairytale Schoolhouseby shamerComment: twenty fifth is a storming result out of this many entries. it's a great capture of a very lovely scene with a really characterful building. well done :) | Photographer found comment helpful. |
