You'll catch grief from the "purists" but I just love this. Hardly anyone here will jump out with an abstract. I think this is very well done. The only thing that dropped my vote from a 10 were the few artifacts that are mostly white-ish on the pups back. And one rather bright artifact on the shadow at about the left ear. I know I'm being an extreme critic, here, but why not... I feel this is sellable work. This image REALLY works for me. Heck, I changed it to a 10... just can't help myself. Do be aware of removing or softening those few bright artifacts, though. I hope your RAW image has enough pixels to take this to 8x10 prints.... it's awesome.

Wow, focal point nightmare, but you caught it OK. The lighting seems too blue to me, perhaps a white balance adjust would have helped. The simplistic effect of the presentation actually works. Normally an angular approach bothers me, but not this time. Gets my 9.

Oh boy, a tough one. Gets my 10, though, it's very good. It's one of those shots where you're going to like it a lot or not. Low key really annoys some folks, but I think it came off as injecting a romantic feel that really pumps it up. Wow.

Gets a 10 even though I think you needed a front spot on just the cake to hightlight the texture. You have made a texture shot with the strawberries and some more 'grain' on the cake would have helped balance it. Gee, that's a nice picture !

Unexpected and very cool. I suppose it fits the 'prepared dish' criteria. Heck, I think I'd try those. Look yummy. Gets my 9 only because I think people food would have been more appropriate for this. It IS a 10 quality image, though.

Oh yeah... gets my 10. The red border was a VERY good thing to do.. put a wrapper on it all. Use of lighting was extremely good. The offsetting blue really works out. One of the best compositions I've seen yet. You're a pro, huh ?
