The Eye of Providenceby homensComment: The brown Eye breaks up the grey white shingle pattern and immediately draws one's own eye into the view to the centre. Studying this is a delight from the striped patterns on the aged wood to some of the raised nails and the sprinkling of the autumn leaves blown there by the unaware wind. The stain from the eye - could this be construed as weeping for what was - or perhaps is yet to come? |

Old Country Churchby dtremainComment: This contains many different textures which blend together well. The white cross in the main brick facade partially echoes the horizontal evenness while at the same time breaks it up with the vertical half. The parallel lines of the small stained glass window are duplicated in the similar one on the right tower in a delightful synchronicity. The deep blue sky with cloud patterns is the final element that completes this well. Simple, balanced, beautiful. |

Ichthyologyby banmornComment: A great close up of a very effective predator. There are quite interesting patterns here and a kind of quaint fierce beauty. Quick, deadly, perverse Fish best suited to be studied from a distance. |

Solar, Electrical Energyby gg3rdComment: The juxtaposition of the natural Sun against the manmade technology is very effective in provoking thought and emotions. The Sun is round, a circle with no discernable beginning or end and yet science would tell us otherwise. The electrical towers and wires cut across the landscape in a slicing pattern, crisscrossing with efficiency and perhaps just a hint of disruption which is echoed by the cloud patterns. |

Oxygenationby ScholtenComment: The raw power of the eternal sea can be seen in this excellent capture. It has a primordial knowledge contained within it, a certainty that things will always be, in Nature's fury or her benevolence. The sky clouds reinforce this movement yet at the same time echo it. Kudos, well done, beautiful. |

"Remove the WHAT?!" by LydiaComment: How to dissect a frog without the knowledge or consent of the subject is an ethical dilemma. Excellent capture of the intended victim, er..scientific collaborator. Crisp, colourful and full of good humour. |

Heat, Fuel and Oxygenby briandsdComment: Colours are beautiful - Fire is such a diverse entity capable of great good and also great evil. The shapes of the flames and the directions they are sweeping in this photograph are very effective. |
