Ancient Lookoutby pjd101Comment: Meets Challenge: 3 of 3.
Technical: 2 of 3. I think if this were taken later in the day, the opening might not have been so over blown, and you could have gotten a little more detail out there without sacrificing the texture inside.

Sailing Awayby briandsdComment: Meets Challenge: 2 of 3. Not so much low key, to me, as just a dark shot with a white boat in it. To me, low key is about how the darkness is augmented by the few highlights to describe the form of your subject. That's not this.
Technical: 2 of 3. A decent shot. It's a little grainy. That might just be because of the resize and jpg, though.
Emotion: 2 of 3.

Lost in a Sea of Blueby seebrownComment: Meets Challenge: 3 of 3.
Technical: 2 of 3. A few small things changed would have made this a better photo. Crop out the little piece of land on the left horizon, and crop up the bottom so the boat is in the middle of the shot. Also, the stray pixels are pretty distracting on an otherwise solid color of water and sky.
Emotion: 2 of 3. I've always liked lone boats on the water, especially sail boats. This is a very calming shot.

Gerberaby androgeusComment: Meets Challenge: 2 of 3. It's really close for me. I'd rather the flower be lit similarly to the stem.
Technical: 3 of 3. A fine shot!
Emotion: 1 of 3. The stem provides some amount of drama (its striking), but the flower is, well, just a flower. Not all that interesting, unfortunately.

The Pleaby HighNoonerComment: Meets Challenge: 3 of 3. Great.
Technical: 3 of 3. Good. Wish there was a little more lighting on his eye, just enough to bring out a glint.
Emotion: 2 of 3. I wonder what he did? I hope he's forgiven.

Lostby aprudhommeComment: Meets Challenge: 3 of 3. Very good!
Technical: 3 of 3. I like the detail in the texture of the ground. Glad it didn't get lost. Maybe consider cropping the left side in a little, like 15% of the width?
Emotion: 2 of 3. The title really helps the image (even though I'm probably not supposed to be judging the title). I like that "Lost" could be referring to the cross itself, or the person who so carelessly tossed it aside.

Chelsea Originalby pawdrixComment: Meets Challenge: 3 of 3. I could stand a little less "full coverage" light, and more spot lighting, but I know this isn't a studio, so it's fine.
Technical: 2 of 3. I'd suggest a tighter crop, maybe? That phone booth isn't really doing anything for the shot, so maybe just bumping the left edge in until it's gone? Otherwise, pretty good.
Emotion: 3 of 3. A dark street corner, a guy with a cigarette leaning against the corner of a building looking for someone... does it get any more dramatic than that? Very nice.

El Barco Abandonadoby RustyGComment: Meets Challenge: 2 of 3. The extra light reflections are a bit too bright. Maybe a tighter crop on the boat (which I assume is your main subject) would fix this.
Technical: 1 of 3. The transitions from black to grey are pretty harsh (especially in the top third of the photo). The details in the water aren't sharp enough to make out, but aren't blurry enough to ignore. Since it's water, consider a longer exposure to further blur the reflection so I can focus more on the boat. Also, as above, crop in on the boat, that's the important part.
Emotion: 2 of 3. I actually built a boat very similar to that out of plywood, 2x4s and fiberglass cloth. I was so worried the first time I pushed it off the trailer into the water. Luckily, though, it floated just fine, much like this little boat. I bet the owner enjoys it as much as I did mine.

Depressionby kidd0067Comment: Meets Challenge: 1 of 3. To me, this is just an underexposed shot, not a low key shot where highlights and darkness mingle to show your subject.
Technical: 1 of 3. As underexposed shots go, the graininess in the dark areas are way too noticeable. This is probably due to how you went from color to B&W
Emotion: 1 of 3. I'm not trying to pick on your model, but she doesn't look depressed so much as bored out of her mind. I think it's the raised eyebrow. I realize there's a fine line, facially, between depression (don't want to do anything) and boredom (nothing to do), but still.

Candle Light Gorgeousby anshum_mComment: Meets Challenge: 1 of 3. I'll give you one point here, because it's dark in the room... but low key, to me, means using highlights in an otherwise dark shot to describe your subject. Not fully, if dimly, lighting your subject in the dark.
Technical: 2 of 3. It's a decent crop and composition, but the soft focus on her face doesn't do it for me. She's a very pretty girl, I just wish I could see her, not the blur of her.
Emotion: 3 of 3. I'm sure you two had fun taking this shot. A good smile and great eyes and a very appropriate tilt of her head. Reminds me of when I was a kid.
