 i don't expect this to score high since hope is traditionally a optimistic notion, and this photo is quite pessimistic about the future of our planet.

Taken at a Weyerhauser pulp mill, representing both deforestation and air pollution.

A dynamic image - very threatening. Without the title - it would not work. With the title, it comes through the back door.

This photo seems to represent the opposite of hope. Great photo though. Hopefully there will be a despair challenge soon and you can reshoot.

That smoke is excellent - in a photographic sense I mean -great detail. This is a powerful image for me, well done! My only suggestion - the smokestack seems too short. I can't really articulate why I think that, but it just does.

I hope your title is wrong!

Very strong composition. Contrast and levels are superb. Weak tie in to theme. Among my top picks.

It´s no hope it´s desperation. The ecological drama can´t be saw as hope for a great future of conscious people. We need to do somothing about it. But it´s is dramatic view no hope at all.

too dark. It's not "hope" to me.. it's "hoplessness". I understand what you were going for, but I personally don't agree that it belongs in this challenge. However, I can't ignore the fact that it's a gorgeously dark image.
