Let’s have no illusions. This is an image by Abra inspired by the bspurgeon style and it was never going to do Ben’s artistic ability true merit.

One of my cats was at the backdoor waiting to be let in casting a shadow that I found intriguing. I would have loved a more obvious profile from Connie but it was going to happen. I do like the textures from the old door. The colours were rather nice as well but his style is predominately B&W (yes, I know he does colour too but when I think of his style B&W is what comes to mind).

I’m going to be away for the voting period which is disappointing as I really wanted to vote and comment on this challenge. I don’t feel my entry is going to popular in a challenge that I expect will have many fine artists entering so bring on the expected low 5 score.

I am so completely blown away with how well this was received. Thank you all for the wonderful comments. The most I've ever received during a challenge and so many from some of the most respected members from this site, and the average vote was 8 for commenters - I'm very humbled.

I thought I'd commented on this before - I know I've looked at it several time! One of my favorites from Ben's challenge and a lovely shot all on its own as well.

Meow! Great door texture, interesting in and of itself, the hint of cat is better than icing on cake :-)

Love how the light falls on the door. Fun use of a silhouette.

I love the composition. Highly geometrical with the irreverent inclusion of catness. 9

I am probably totally wrong, but this has more of a paulbtlw feel to it than Ben's. Love that feeling of having caught something of note, though we don't yet know what - an image that will play a crucial role in the unraveling of a twisted plot. Not that that's important, because it's going straight to faves.

Full of rich tones and texture, but it's the unique perspective and composition that is truly captivating. 8

Don't let it in, they always make a mess. By the way great image.

This is such a great picture ... I wished that the cat would have moved its head just so slightly ... but then where would be the mystery, the candid feeling? Very nice.

Back to comment... So wonderfully different! Love the textures of the peeling paint, the sharp angles on the panels to compliment the softness of the shadow. 10

Wonderful detail in this. Love the lurking shadow and the feeling of stealth, intrusion.
