 I do feel a bit guilty of this entry as it is the remnants of a flower so it is probably a shoehorn in the eyes of many DPCers. I’m sure I’ll get punished in the voting as a result. I did get a few flower pics that would better meet the challenge description and even a couple with an interesting bug on it that would probably score a lot higher than this will but this is the shot I liked the most. Sorry, I’m no botanist but I believe this is what remains once a Banksia drops its red petals.

I found this to be just as beautiful as many other types of flowers hence the title. But I’m realistic enough to know this wont appeal to most votes looking for the capture of lovely petals and so I’ll be happy with the expected mid to high 4’s for this image. Sometimes you just have to enter what you like the most and not what will raise your average.

I don't even know what this is, but I've decided that it is a half eaten cone, and that is a flower, kind of. I like the photo, and how you've captured the colours - really nice! 8

Sure is ugly but I guess that's what you were going for. Just can't compete with the beautiful flowers elsewhere in this challenge.
