Actually almost looks like its missing a platter and a set of heads. Either they cheaped out when making a lower capacity model or it was removed prior to the shoot.

While this is a good photo I don't think it meets the challenge. You've only showed us one part of a computer, not all it's pieces. You didn't even take the hard drive apart.

Nice clarity and depth of field. Generally when I think of technology, I think of cool colors, and the nice warm yellow glow here strikes me as odd. I wonder if you could have added in the HD cover as the background, or to add one more level of interest.
