 My Edward Weston inspiration was this shot . I feel this may not be easily recognised as in his style with most people associating his work with portrait, landscapes and abstact shaped peppers.

I've set the aperture and lighting, adjusted the black & white conversion process and cropped the image in the manner I believe Edward may have done. My PP skills are nothing like what he could do in a dark room and what most DPC'ers seem capable of and this is where I will fail. I sort of wished this had stayed Basic Editting.

I'm expecting to get punished in this challenge and will be happy if this makes it into the 5's. I'm predicting a 4.9xxx

i like the filled frame here but the contrast seems off and the square crop doesn't feel Weston-like

Hmm, I think I like the way this one fits the challenge. I don't recall Weston shooting anything so close. I do think your contrast range, lighting, framing, and presentation of form really echo his work well. I especially like that your subject is so different while capturing his approach so well. Awesome!

Such a great job on this!! I love how you got the dark blacks and maintained the detail in the whites. Very good "in the style of" photo without being a copy!
