I'm very happy, my first ribbon in my 11th challenge! I liked my entry but I couldn't be sure that people liked it too. Several people asked me about the shutter speed: it was my very first try with 50mm. I tried with a wide angle, but the images were not what I was searching for, so I began with 50mm. My first try was at 1/1000 and I noticed that a faster shutter speed would be better to freeze the movement of the water. I changed for a 1/2000 speed, but I couldn't get once again that strange wrapping movement of the water, so I chose the first one. Thanks everybody for voting and commenting my image ^_^

I'm from the center of Italy, my region is Abruzzo that a couple of years ago has been "famous" because of the earthquake that destroyed our most historical town, L'Aquila (G8 took place there). But Abruzzo is also the "green region" of Europe, with high and wonderful mountains and 200 kms of beaches over the Adriatic Sea. Have you ever been to Italy? ^_^

Haha! I can't imagine how many tries it took to get the water to do that, it's very cool. Is there any way you could have raised your shutter speed though? Or maybe used a strobe on a lower power setting to really stop the motion of the water?

there's a weird mixture between sharp and not sharp going on in this. I also think this might have done better in black and white. I find the colors to be a bit distracting.

My favourite photo of this challenge. You capture the concept very well yet you use so "little" to achieve this. Technical superb and interesting to see. I give you a 10 :).
