Photographer’s Notes
I like cityscapes. I like shooting buildings: Houses; Office Buildings; Stadiums; Anything really. And there’s a pair of office/condo towers in Bellevue (Seattle Suburb) that has intrigued me since they were finished a year or so ago. They have an interesting design with interesting lines. They are of the glass & steel school and nicely reflect whatever is going on in the sky and the buildings around them.

So yesterday I drove to Bellevue with the objective of shooting the buildings. This involved walking around about a square mile of city surrounding the towers, in the cold and the rain, looking at different angles, backgrounds, weather and such. I got a number of photos I liked.

But I recognize not everyone here shares my interest in buildings. So I needed to make something interesting out of them. In this case I rotated the building (actually the photo of the building – no occupants were harmed in the maneuver) 90 degrees clockwise and cropped it close. All the rest is pretty standard layers work.

My wife and I saw Tron Legacy on Christmas day, which is a visually stunning movie btw although a bit thin in the plot department, and this reminded me a little of the Grid. I'm probably reaching a bit here. The title is a reference to the 1974 movie of the same name starring Warren Beaty and Paula Prentiss.

This was fun. Maybe it's just unusual enough to stop the speed voters for a second or two while they try to figure it out. Hope you like the results.

Perhaps it was your interntin to leave the colors subtle, but I think more could have been brought out...

Nice use of patterns, and by breaking them up, that makes a static view look a bit more dynamic.
