This is officially my final five countdown towards my 10,000th comment. It suddenly acquired enormous portent for me, so I chose the final five from the thumbnails. This is number 9,999.
A real standout in a challenge filled with trees and buildings. Terrific diagonal composition, with a very strong story. The jeans and work shirt are a wonderful counterpoint to the bejeweled fingers. There is a strong journalistic feel here, which the b/w and grain help underscore. This image inspires an odd mix of emotions - sadness and hope. |
