The pistil of a daylily with just the tip (stigma) in focus. I know, flowers are stereotypical shallow DOF subjects, but I love this kind of shot! Especially of daylilies.
Had all my extension tubes attached and used diffused flash for fill light.
PP - cropped, shifted hue slightly warmer, increased contrast, 2nd layer (Gaussian blur, lightened, merged in multiply mode at 20% transparency), touched up sensor dust spots, desaturated and dodged stigma, resized, sharpened, added border. |
