Lensbaby!

[Jul. 11th, 2010 11:20:05 PM]

Oh my, the left/right right/left left/right side is blurry. I hope she can see ok with that one clear eye :D

************
For the record, I wasn't going for the perfect shot but I did want the eye in focus. It really doesn't bother me that both eyes are not in focus. And if you look at this with one eye open, it's even better ;-)

What a beguiling face!!! Too bad about the blurred eye. I love my lensbaby, but have had a few disappointments with it too ... near misses on the focus.

I never suspected the lensbaby here... hmmm! I will have to rethink my critiquing!

A fresh approach to portraits! And yes, it does work! Check out Zigomar's stuff (if he still has a live portfolio) for portraits done with the Lensbaby.

Hmm, not sure if you noticed this, but her right eye is blurry. ;) Ha!

She has such a beautiful relaxed smile, and you captured her personality quite well.

Great work Michelle!

i hope that you didn't get too much objection to the movement or shallow dof. i think that is the most intriguing aspect to this. 6

She would be fresh if her entire face was in focus. Here it looks like you were shooting at about f1.8 and with such close distance you had maybe less than an inch of depth of field in total...

Up close and personal. I like that. I'm a little bugged by her right eye (viewer's left) being out of focus.

She has such beautiful eyes that I'm sad to see one of them blurred like that. It makes her face look unsymmetrical, which seems strange. She has beautiful skin, but since this is an advanced editing, you could have done just a little bit of spot editing to make her look absolutely flawless, which is usually a desirable element in a portrait, especially of a girl in her age bracket. That said, this is still a nice portrait.

pretty young woman - i am just not a fan of the super shallow DOF to only have one eye in focus

Her left is in focus, her right is not. Nice fresh face...
