That's right, regular old table salt can be blue too!

Yes, this is a naturally occurring crystal, from the Potash mines in Southeastern New Mexico.

It is thought that the blue color is a result of a metamict crystal structure, or essentially, it's caused by atoms being knocked askew by radioactive decay.


Size is about 1" tall..

Wow! How big is that crystal? From the thumb (I'm always seeing stuff in the thumbs) this looked like a moonlit fantasy forest through a doorway.
