my original idea was to create a Picasso-like abstract portrait of a woman using reflections from broken mirror pieces, slightly tilted in different directions... Here is one of a few such images I made
(the model is my wife Irina).
However, I also took a few shots with mirror pieces laying basically flat, so the face while appears broken, is not heavily distorted... So, after much contemplation I chose this, more traditional image. The outtake is perhaps more interesting conceptually and "artsy", but this one seems visually more pleasant... it was a hard call to make. I feel that the judges would probably prefer my outtake, but the audience would probably not like it too much... Anyway, now you can see both and make your own call :)
[the hardest photographic challenge was to have both the mirror and the reflection in sharp focus. I had to merge two exposures to achieve this, even f/20 was not enough for a single exposure.]
p/challenge: yeah I agree with some of the comments, this image could use a better title :) |

4 - Don't mind the concept, but the image in the mirror doesn't gel with the title or my imagination - the composition and background also detracts, in my opinion. |

I see shattered but I'm not connecting with the dream. Nicely set up and executed. |

The lighting and setup are good but to be honest this is more commercial than fine art. It doesn't make me think or feel and given your specific theme I should feel something. |

What I really love about this shot, is the fact that it tells a story... Now, its up to the viewer to decide what that story is, that is what is so fascinating about the shot... Very well done... |

i like it! ive always wanted to do a shot similar to this but never find the time to do so, its very intristing to look at!, im not really feeling brown backdrop tho its a little distracting for me and takes away from the glass and whats in it. |
