Nice, but the desat doesn't work for me. I also think the movie poster should either be out of focus or cropped out. |

I'm not so sure it is necessary that she be black and white. |

I love the concept. The people reflected in the glass make her seem less lonesly. Also, I'm not a big fan of selective B&W. Still a nice shot. |

The contrast between the brightly lit and colourful transport and the black and white person is very effective at emphasising the theme of Loneliness. It seems she is isolated, apart, and this is echoed by both her expression and her closed in body stance. It is a very visual and definite contrast and if you look at her reflection in the window you can see two other passengers in completely different miens - one is engaged in reading his newspaper, the other is looking forward. This woman is not. The poster stating "It's complicated...something's gotta give" is an additional nice touch as it most probably sums up the subject's inner emotions. Engaging - I want to know more of her story. Superb capture, eloquent photograph. |

I might have given a 10* here if the crop had done with the burnt highlights on the top left but I understand you didn't want to crop Merryl Streep's head off.
Extra points given for going against the tide and doing the exact opposite of wha teverybody else does wtih selective desaturation.
