 On a walk at the Lookout on Berkshire we stopped to watch 6 squirrels playing in the trees. They are noisy little things, squeeking and making some very odd noises at each other. Was great fun, although a tad chilly!
This is one that was chasing 2 others across trees. I focused on the end of one of the branches as he was running along it & waited until he had leapt to catch the shot. And I did, small wonder :)
Anyway, hope you like it

Amazing shot!!! Perfect mid-air catch is very hard. I've never been able to come close.

Fun! What great timing. Those suckers are brave lol. I was in a forest a couple of years ago where some squirrels were doing the same thing and the poor dear didn't quite make his destination. I watched him tumble to the ground and after a moment, he got up and ran away lol. Cool catch.

Very good capture. I suppose it could be improved with a flash or something, but you've done well with the focus and even the composition. Imagine how much time it would take if you tried to plan and execute a shot like this.

Impressive timing. You were very aware of what was going on, and set up to capture it perfectly. More exposure would have washed out the sky, and as a silhouette with highlights, the squirrel looks very good. It's amazing how they can jump like that.

Great timing! Camera has underexposed causing lost detail but it doesn't detract from the image.
