Hmm... Maybe a join or a pin in wood? Looks very weathered or sandblasted.

Beautiful Tones and Flowing lines! The 6:9 aspect really suits this image. Excellent work!
As to what it is. Man you have me thinking. Something made of wood and handcrafted.

to me this is wood, but what I can't tell is if it is curving in or out (if I am looking inside or at the top edge) you did an excellent job of this...super clear...well done
