Hi from the Critique Club.
This is a difficult one for me to critique because I know it's a ribbon winner, but it was really not among my favorites.
I think probably for me, the thing that most detracted from the photo was that there is so much going on. When I crop it to simply the oranges (and baskets) below that large chrome strip, I like it much better. The lighting and composition appear more snap-shotish to me.
I think the subject, the way all these oranges are laid out so nicely together, somehow could have made more impact. Maybe if the lighting was a little brighter or more interesting. Also, as I mentioned earlier, I would have come in closer to the oranges and left out all the upper part of the photo.
It seems I'm in the minority on this one and that's okay! I hope you find the comments helpful and congratulations on your ribbon!

I wanted to do another image. Was at a shopping center, and wanted to photograph something like a wall of TV's. Got a good image of a lady standing in front of a shoe store, then I saw this orange display at a fresh juice store. The colour & layout caught my eye, so I shot off a few images. They all came out OK.
I had to do a 0,8 degree rotation, crop, and increased the saturation a little to bring out the orange colour. Sharpened, resized, framed & Bingo! |

| Top three, just a great shot. Im sure you will get comments that it doesn't fit the challenge, but IMHO it does quite well and it creates an arresting shot with great geometry. |
