Well, time I had some fun with making a set and driving myself nuts with getting everything just right :-)

The set is my lightbox, with the backdrop from the Cows at the Beach set behind the skeletons. The wings of the stage are dark purple tissue paper, and the stage itself is my beaten-up kitchen table. All of the skeletons in the chorus line originally came with completely straight limbs, hinged only at shoulders and hips.

However, with a little help, a few scorched thumbs and a couple of lighters later, Ryan and I were able to get a convincing bend in the knees, and the arms going out to the side instead of just forwards and backwards. Sewing needles are pinned through the standing foot of each skeleton, and once I found my gluegun, I was able to eliminate a second batch of needles from the kicking feet.

Later, I found some more skeletons and put them into the audience. The theatre seats are made from blue craft foam, and their bony little butts are stuck into green Play-Doh to ensure they don't fall over.

Huge thanks to Ryan Magnumphotography for showing me the true value of a tripod, long exposure and handheld LEDs and/or flashes! I learned so much just from watching him patiently strobe off that flash, shot after shot after shot. Though for the final shot, I used a small handheld LED light but did my best to do what he did.

Hi from the Critique club!

LOLOLOL, I was going through this challenge this morning and was so excited when I saw yours and your great placement and was going to leave a comment. But for some reason, I KNEW i was going to get this one in the CClub!!!!!

As for your shot, brilliant. The placement is strong with your score. You put so much work into this as well. The only thing I could see that you could do a little differently would be to light the audience a little more.

I think this is a fun shot and it really sounds like you had a good time making it!!!!

Yay - it held over 6 and made your top row! Congrats! And a darn cute shot (and great title) as well. AND as a bonus it sounds as though setting this up was a blast. I've recently been playing with flashes, too, but don't have half this much creativity as to what to flash. Nice work!

Congrats on finishing with a 6+! I thought it was cute. It reminded me of some stop action cartoon I have seen but for the life of me, I cannot remember what it was. Great job!

Very funny! Well executed too. I bet Richard Attenborough had made this one instead - takes the Oscar for best set design!
