The annual Tiger Swallowtail gathering has started on my Butterfly Bush, so I got the bright idea to try and get one in flight. That's HARD! They fly quite erratically and unpredictably. Birds are easier.
Since this was a 60's/70's band I thought a funky sort of shot worked for it. I love that the little face and body is in focus but the rest is a blur; very ghostly effect. This may be a love/hate kind of shot ... more likely hate, and the thumb isn't likely to "wow" anyone. If it breaks 5.0 I'll be surprised.
Used fill flash.
PP - converted from RAW, rotated, cropped, white balance, increaed saturation on red through green hues and shifted a little to the right, increased brightness and contrast, reduced noise, resized, sharpened, added border, brought saturation down a little on yellower greens. |

Fantastic. The focus and muted colors give this a sort of 'chalky' look that I find very appealing. |

Not coming off to me well, I'm afraid. I think the major issue for me is the noisy bokeh in the background. The blurry butterfly looks pretty neat, however. |

I would prefer to see something in focus. |

I know you were trying for a sprit effect...but, it turned out blurry more than anything. I like the idea though! |

Neat idea, but I don't think that the low-res internet version does it justice. |

One of my only 10s out of both challenges this week. I think it's fantastic |
