 Walking along the Hudson River in NYC with my pups I was greeted probably by one of the most clear and spectacular sunsets I have seen in a long time. Since I always have my camera with me, I just started shooting everything and then I saw the three sails. These are actually shade sails on Pier 45. They are fashioned after sailboat sails and enhances the wonderful piers that are now 1 year old. I always feel like I'm on vacation when I walk along the river now. I did not do much to this shot, nature took care of most of it for me. Here it is: Curves, Levels and Saturation layer.

I very rarely comment on, and never "adjust" the score because of, borders, but I feel that this one really detracts from a nice pictures. The colors are so rich and deep, and the border looks so "unnatural." Great shot, otherwise. 8

Wonderful sunset backdrop. The sails are interesting with good composition. The horizon looks a little tilted.

The border detracts from this imho. Looks like there are 4 sails, but I'm not gonna be picky ; )

Ooooh... pretty colors. I'd like to see the tree branches at left and entire bottom cropped off. That would avoid the bright area above the horizon and forces the viewer to imagine a graceful tall ship rather than what seems to be a monument of some kind.

Very impressive sunset background with vibrant colors. The sails appear to be a bit out of focus. I would like to have the bottom and left trees and such cropped out as they are distracting. Just the sails and the sunset would have been a very simple yet effective presentation. Not a fan of the border, either. Overall, good effort.
