 Well, actually the T-Rex lived in the Cretaceous period, but "Jurassic" sound so much better.

I shot this intending to try and duplicate (With SLR quality) a cameraphone shot I did a few days prior. My intention was to use it in the duotones challenge.


Unfortunately, the floodlights underneath Rex did not come on even well after dark, so I did a long exposure and painted the T-Rex statue with my flashlight instead. I liked this better than how any of the duotone versions came out.

This actually took quite a bit of layer work, Topaz, and lots of Dodge/burn.

Pre-challenge notes:
Expecting this to not have broad appeal and a high score, due to the subject matter and my color treatment. As much as I like this, I think it will not rate highly with the overall membership of DPC. Expecting something in the low 5's.

Anticipated Critiques:
-Oversaturated in the reds
-Not liking overall color treatment
-Overprocessed
-Just don't care for the subject
-Too dark (I tried a lighter treatment but did not like it as much)

Post-challenge notes:
Did slightly worse than anticipated. Note to self: Giant lizards are not a high scoring cliche subject.

I'm not sure but I think this is HDR (or Topaz), quite the interesting subject

Kinda looks like he's saying "come here, I've got something to show you".

Great colours, they're so vivid it almost looks computer generated. I'm guessing this was some sort of exhibition at a museum or something.
