 My trip back to the mall in Frankfurt to shoot for architecture, for which I did not use anything I shot. Considered this one but figured it would get knocked for being more about the people than the architecture.

I actually prefer this in straight B&W but given that folks will expect "tones", you get it here in blue! Shadow/highlights, crop, convert to B&W using Nik Silver Efex, toned with Nik Silver Efex using the selenium setting.

One of my better titles. :-) I stood at the top of the escalator and shot as people were coming up. At first I was waiting for there to be no people to get just the architecture, but then I realized it was more fun to have people on the side.

Post challenge:

Very pleased with how this did! And no, they weren't posing, and no, they didn't notice me. I rarely get noticed, which comes in handy. It also helps when you shoot wide and are aiming slightly away from your subjects.

This is a great shot. It has that feel of elegance to it. I like the way the couple is just a small part of the whole big scene.

Brilliant! All those lines seem to be leading straight back at them. I began looking at the picture with them and my eyes ended on them as well..

Nice finish Deb. I really like this shot. It would have made a real good architecture image too. I didn't comment during the challenge and when I came across this tonight I thought I would tell you how much I like it. I scored it an 8 BTW :)

Ohmy! How I love this! And I'm glad for this one you left the human element in. It adds such story to that amazing architecture. I've never seen anything so grande as that mall. It's so unbelievably striking. If you ever do portrait shoots for a couple, you might take them there for some shots like this. I bet that couple would love to have this picture. It's very chic and romantic :)

Delightful. The couple and the architecture complement each other perfectly. I like the way the people are a bit in the shadow and the mall is bright. This is really an outstanding capture of a marvelous moment.
