Shot on Nicollet Mall in Minneapolis. I met this woman about a year and a half ago when she was out playing her fiddle. I photographed her for an Environmental Portrait challenge.

I chatted with her again and took this portrait.

I've also photographed her husband.

Post processing in Lightroom and CS4.

Hello from the Critique Club-
As soon as I view your photo, I am drawn directly to the subject’s eyes. There is great detail and the irises have an interesting hue, which contrasts with the rest of the photo and helps to set them off nicely. There’s a lot going on in your photo, but it isn’t cluttered and the background is nicely obliterated, which does a great job of isolating your subject and also works quite well with your excellent choice of sepia. I’m not too sure how I feel about the reflections in the glassesâ€Â¦ obviously this wasn’t up to you to dictate since it’s another street portrait, but the legs especially on the right lens are a bit distracting to me. I like the expression on her face, it’s interesting and somewhat ambiguous. Personally, I’m not a big fan of your specific choice for the border. I think I might like a thin black border, or maybe an inset black border. All in all though, I really like this and would personally have voted it higher than what your final score was.

I like this... specially her eyes... i just think it would be better to avoid those legs on the glasses...
