 A thunderstom on the way.
Tonemapped, a lot of levels sharpening and blurring.
Spent some time dodging and burning.
Finally USM and saved for the web.

I find this extremely unpleasant as an image. The editing looks very unskilled. I don't mind a heavy handed image, but this one looks poorly done. The strong difference in processing style from the lower portion of the image compared with the sky doesn't work well, making the pic look unfinished and I don't find any aspect of the composition compelling whatsoever.

The thumb shown in the photographer's comments on the other hand is much, much better and is a whole different story. It's quite decent.

Very smooth clouds, a lot of post-processing to get that done, I imagine. The colors and turbulence of the sky is unsettling, good job (though maybe lay off the post-processing, some?)

The mountains in the background are nice, too

To my eyes, the sky just doesn't look natural, perhaps too processed. I do like the water and horizon, though.
