 I anticipate that many people have dug through their collection looking for images of people that are central to their lives. This is a photo of our only child, Max.

This one dates back to before I owned a DSLR and is taken with Olympus' nifty waterproof 770SW. It captures a moment on the vacation when Max learnt to swim - the goggles were fundamental in him gaining enough confidence to swim on his own, and this image captures his personality really well!

Is it the best image I have taken? Not even close; does it capture a slice of life I'm happy to share - Yes it does.

I hope it makes someone smile.

I should add, Max doesn't have a squiffy left eye - just really tight goggles!!

Don't assume that because you have an affinity for your subject, the rest of the world will too. Otherwise, a good workmanlike photo.

Wonderful shot :) This reminds me how much I want an underwater housing for my camera... This is the kind of photo that provides precious memories years down the road. It's more than just a photo of the child... it speaks about the child and tells me something more than just what he looks like. A definite 10 from me...
