| This image has a definite poster quality... The one thing which I keep getting hung up on is the sailor looks almost artificially highlighted. I'd like to see the subject more silhouetted so that I got the "idea" of the sailor, but could focus on the dramatic skys and water, and how the sailor blends into those elements rather than how the sailor contrasts with the elements. Hopefully this makes snese - but overall this is a fantastic shot! |

Powerful image ..I like the way the subject has shielded the sun but allowed the rays to show through......fantastic sky also.
My only minor quibble is the slightly plastic appearance of the sea. (neat image ?)
The horizon line appears to drop from left to right but this can often be an optical illusion caused by the contours of the coastline...either way it doesn`t spoil this excellent image for me.

| Breathtaking. As far as I am concerned this is a central focus and that is what this challenge is about for me. I am not sure if the luminous backround with the plain, matte fabric being worn in contrast moves it one notch up or down for me. I'll let you know if I decide! 8. |

Icelandic sailor? Where is his boat? Did it sink?
You know, there are excellent photos in this challenge, but the originality in this one just strikes me. Thanks for blowing my mind with this photo, a 10 for that.

| This one is the winner for me. You did great, catching that light and that sphere, it feels like the sailor is in the eye of the storm where it is deadcalm, but holding on untill the storm brews up again! The man in the middle gives it an 'in your face' kind of feeling, here, the composition works very well. I don't like the crackled suit he is wearing, it feels like the suit is new and not worn much..it makes a gap in my imagination..The colour is perfect though, gives it that extra spooky kinda look..Love the colours, love the atmosphere and I think you did a great job with this composition!! - 10 !! |
