Not sure this image is really very interesting to me. Composition is bland and the focal point isn't very sharp.

could be much better if the quality was better , I think you should aim to that aspect first aspecially at this kind of challenge, ...

Bit too close so the whole perspective is lost. Looks a bit dull and uninspiring and focus is soft. This really can't be the best photo you ever took.

Sunflower close up. Love the yellow. Not a great fan of shallow DOF, especially when the in-focus range goes through the shot diagonally.

There's a good variety of textures to be had here, but maybe the stronger textures in the centre of the flower are making the shot top heavy? Perhaps pulling back slightly to reveal a bit more of the petals would make the centre of the flower more of a focal point and would also allow you to get more depth of field to keep the centre of the flower nice and sharp.

i like this, but a slightly larger dof might have been a bit more interesting. maybe with something specific for the eye to focus on

good try at an abstract, but I think I'd have cropped a little more of the right side off to lose the soft focus areas.
