It had finally come to this moment, as he stood there on that peak and lifted his staff to the winds. Finally, it had come to this confrontation with the dark force that had long been threatening these lands, and he was afraid.
Afraid that his strength would not suffice. Afraid that his test here would fail. Afraid that the land would be covered in darkness should he fall.
Yes, he was afraid, but he stood tall and faced the setting sun and gathered the energies of it into himself and faced that fear. For he was the chosen, a mage of immense power and destiny, and if he did not prevail here, no one would. |

Well, I can see LOTR for sure, but you know what else? If it weren't for the anti-Christian backlash that would ensue, I'd have called this "Moses on Mt. Sinai" or something :-) Really nicely done. I hope you have the backstory in your photographer's comments section. 8 |

There are not many things to be said for your image. It is better to look at , than try to explain how beautiful it is. I think it should be placed at top 3.

Wow! What a stunning and mesmerizing view that opens up before this red-robed wizard! This soooo reminds me of the swell of music and the majesty of the mountain views in the Lighting of the Beacons scene in the LOTR's movies. ARH!!! Look what you made me do now:-) I stepped away to put my LOTR Return of the King soundtrack in the stereo...something that I have not done since I helped a friend with writing some material for his book (yes, fantasy based:-) ) O.K. back to the picture now that I have music to accompany it:-) Love the mist that blankets the mountains. The lone figure standing upon the rocky outcrop to survey the 'misty' mountains conjures a truly fantasical view of a magical realm. Thank you for sharing this gem and filling my morning with some wonderful music to fit the scene:-) |
